An on-board RTK module provides real-time positioning data for improved absolute accuracy in images’ metadata. The Phantom 4 RTK stores satellite observation data for use in a PPK workflow and has the ability to connect to the DJI D-RTK 2 mobile base station, Skycatch Edge1, or NTRIP using a 4G dongle.


The new TimeSync system was created to continually align the flight controller, camera and RTK module. Additionally, TimeSync ensures each photo uses the most accurate metadata and fixes the positioning data to optical centre of the camera lens – optimising the results from photogrammetric outputs.


A mechanical shutter removes the risk of rolling shutter blur. The 20MP camera delivers reliable Ground Sample Distance to optimise relative accuracy in photogrammetric outputs, and every single camera lens goes through a rigorous calibration process, with parameters saved into each image’s metadata.

What options do I have to source RTK corrections?

The Phantom 4 RTK obtains real-time differential data in either of the following two ways:

  1. By connecting to the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station (RTCM3.2)
  2. By connecting the remote controller to an NTRIP network RTK service through a 4G dongle (RTCM3.2)
Does the Phantom 4 RTK come as standard with the D-RTK 2 base station?

No – Whilst there is an option to purchase a kit that includes the D-RTK 2 base station, the standard option comes without a base station, so gives you complete flexibility to choose how your RTK/PPK corrections will be sourced.
