A mechanical shutter eliminates rolling shutter distortion which can occur when capturing fast-moving subjects or when flying at high speed. The electronic shutter features Burst mode, capable of shooting 14fps at 20MP to catch the perfect image.


FlightAutonomy is an advanced aerial intelligence and flight automation platform, giving pilots the confidence to capture more complex images. A real-time view of the environment and 3D map provide crucial data. Redundant systems monitor critical data and rule out possible errors, dramatically enhancing the reliability of flight. Obstacle sensing in five directions improves safety and overall flight experience. 


The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0’s remote controller uses OcuSync 2.0 video transmission, which enables the pilot to send control signals and receive video signals simultaneously, which allows for robust 1080p livestreaming. Supporting both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, OcuSync 2.0 scans for the frequency band with the lowest interference and switches accordingly to maintain clear transmission.


The DJI GO 4 app shows battery lifetime and calculates remaining flight times according to distance travelled. When the minimum distance required for a safe journey back to the takeoff point is reached, a prompt will alert the pilot. When placed in long term storage, batteries will automatically discharge power to maintain optimal battery health.

Is the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 suitable for aerial surveys?

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 does not utilise any GNSS correction technology, so absolute accuracy of collected imagery will only be as good as standard GPS. However, for photogrammetry workflows the drone can be used in combination with Ground Control Points to achieve absolute accuracy of ~50mm in all axes.

How does the obstacle sensing system work?
The maximum forward and rear obstacle sensing distance for the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is 30 metres. Additionally, the drone is equipped with infrared sensors on both sides of the aircraft, precisely detecting the distance between the aircraft and obstacles within a range of up to 7 metres.
What is the benefit of a mechanical shutter?

An electronic shutter can cause artefacts and distortion, such as rolling shutter distortion when shooting fast-moving objects or when the drone is flying at high speed. A mechanical shutter prevents this and guarantees high-quality imagery in these circumstances.

Does the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 support focus adjustment?

Yes – Switch from ‘Metering’ to ‘Focus’ mode, then tap a point on the display to focus at that point. Autofocus can be triggered by half-pressing the shutter button before fully pressing the button to capture an image. Focus can be set between 1m and infinity.

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0’s Return to Home function forms a map of its environment in real time. The aircraft chooses the best flight path to return home and senses as far as 300 metres away to avoid obstacles more effectively. If the control signal is lost, the drone will retrace its original path to regain its connection after one minute. When it reconnects, it will return following a straight route. If it fails to regain connection, it will also revert to straight line RTH.
