What is the difference between the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced and the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual?

The thermal resolution has been dramatically improved to 640×512 px (comparable to the Zenmuse H20T’s thermal sensor), and the resolution of the visual camera is also 4 times better than the M2ED. Additionally, and critically in our view, the thermal images are now stored as R-JPEG files, meaning they can be analysed in post-processing software.

The flight performance and waypoint mission features have also been optimised in the M2EA.

What is the maximum flight time of the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced ?

The drone itself (none of the accessories installed) can fly for approximately 30 minutes. The flight time reduces to approximately 24 minutes with the spotlight accessory installed and turned on.

Can I fly the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced in the rain?

Unfortunately not – the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced does not have an IP rating, so is not able to fly in the rain. If flying in light rain is a requirement, you should explore the M300 RTK.

Can I take temperature measurements on thermal images captured with the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced?

Yes – The M2EA features a radiometric thermal sensor, which means temperature data is recorded in the pixels that make up the thermal image.

The pilot can check temperatures in real-time by tapping on the remote controller display, and also by uploading the R-JPEG image files to DJI’s post-processing software.

What file format are the thermal images stored as?

R-JPEG

What is the expected error of temperature measurements?
This depends on the many external factors that influence thermography work. However, in lab testing environment, the temperature measurement accuracy has been recorded at +/- 2°C.
